CALCULATORS

Students are expected to follow all policies as outlined in the Student Handbook. Students will be expected to follow all computer rules including the school's' Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).
This course is designed for the beginning to intermediate level computer user who has some experience using the computer. Students will work in-groups and teams to complete various course assignments and projects (challenges). Students will be expected to self-motivated and stay on task with all lectures, web based instruction and activities.
Each student must have a compatible Tablet or iPad device capable of running the Lego Mindstorm EV3 programing software. It is always the student’s responsibility to safeguard his/her device. Students who choose to loan or allow another student their device do so at their own risk and loss. Students are responsible for backing up all their work and maintaining their data. No excuses will be accepted for losing work.
Deadlines are exactly what they mean! All work is due when asked for with limited exceptions. Enough time is given for students to complete their work and projects in class with some homework as needed. Students should not PROCRASTINATE work deadlines for this class. This policy is followed strictly with limited exceptions as determined by the teacher. Many of the activities are scheduled for certain days and students missing a class period may not be able to make-up an activity.
All students will be expected to take care of and respect all school computer hardware and software, including EV3 Robotic Brick and associated pieces while in their use. Students will have access to computers, EV3 Software and Lego Mindstorm Lego kits. Damages to any computer equipment or Robotics kits by a student will be charged to the student.

LEGO® MINDSTORMS®Education EV3 Introduction to Robotics

The Introduction to Robotics Lesson Plan provides beginning lesson plans for implementing LEGO®MINDSTORMS® Education EV3 Software in the classroom. Each lesson and challenge will give students the help they need to prepare, run, and assess MINDSTORMS in their classrooms. The lessons are designed to grow students’ abilities to program their robots and investigate how sensors work. The challenges then provide a way for students to apply their learning to a more open ended task. It is up to you to select which, as well as how many of the provided extra tasks and challenges you want to use in your class.
